One of the best professional and personal experiences of my life
Group Internal Auditor (employé actuel) – Paris, A8 – 11 novembre 2015
Travelling the world to perform audits is incredible not only from a cultural point of view but also from a professional one. I've opened my mind to different ideas, solutions and proposals.
A part from that, I've developed knowledge on the operations side, which was not the case in External Audit (as there we were looking more to Financial Statements). Also even not being an Engineer, I was coached to understand and identify some risks on industrial processes, like production, maintenance and mining operations (which is much more helpful to understand the financial impacts)
Other business processes are part of my audits, for instance: purchases and A/P, treasury, sales and A/R and RH and Payroll>
The negative point is that after some time I started to get physically tired of travelling too much (70% - 80%), altough I still like to travel
And recentlythere have been some changes in the management of the department, which I am not particularly happy with.
Although I have 5 years of experience only, after seeing managemts not only in my department but during the audits, I feel that I am capable to be a manager, either in a Internal Audit or in any other department (that of course I have the techinical knowledge to handle)
